About Delon Hampton and Associates

In January 1973, Delon Hampton and Associates, Chartered was founded with the sole objective of creating a world-class engineering consulting firm specializing in engineering design and construction management services. Initially, the firm’s focus markets were transportation and water/wastewater. In 1974, the company received its first contract from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) as the lead firm under a joint venture entity to design two rail transit stations and accompanying inspection facilities. Within three years, we opened our second design office in Atlanta, Georgia and were awarded a contract as a member of a joint venture to design the Constitution Road Combined Sewer Overflow Facility for the City of Atlanta.

The firm expanded its services in the 1980s to include program management and construction management services and was awarded its first contract as Program Management Oversight Consultant (PMOC) for the Federal Transit Administration.

Today, we maintain a staff of 65 professionals spread throughout our corporate headquarters in Washington, DC and offices in Silver Spring and Baltimore, Maryland as well as Atlanta, Georgia.

Our strength and leadership in the engineering industry has been proven by our long-term client relationships and our ability to deliver our projects on time and within budget. We bring the experience, resources, and technical expertise to provide engineering design, construction and program management services in response to the needs of our clients.

The key to our success is the delivery of quality service to our clients; a long-standing tradition established by our founder and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Delon Hampton, PhD, PE (the first of his two driving principles). We have built our reputation on excellence, innovation, and the application of cost-effective solutions that meet our client’s needs. We are committed to these standards and the successful execution of every project under our watch.
