Business Development Specialist

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Business Development Specialist. Candidate will support a wide range of business development activities including preparation of marketing collateral, production of proposals and presentations, maintenance of customer relationship management database, and occasional outside sales activities such as attendance at industry conferences. The Business Development Specialist will work under the direction of the Vice President of Business Development. The successful candidate will be creative and detail-oriented who welcomes challenges and takes initiative. A strong aptitude for creative writing and graphic design, good time management skills and multi-tasking proficiency are essential, along with strong proofreading, problem-solving and data manipulation skills.  

Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of business development experience coordinating and developing proposals, preferably in the architecture/engineering/construction industry. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience with graphics programs, such as, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office and other desktop publishing software. Construction Management Manager

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic Construction Management Manager. Candidate will provide expertise in the oversight of FTA funded major capital transit projects. The Construction Management Manager will review project sponsors' construction plans and supporting documentation to ensure that projects are being built safely, on budget, on schedule, within scope, and in conformance with applicable regulations and guidelines. The individual will serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert in the area of construction management and transit projects.

Requirements: A minimum 10 years of experience on large capital projects, including at least 3 years as a Construction Manager in passenger rail or related transportation modes. Must have a B.S. degree in engineering or related field. Experience with project scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety and risk management required. Electrical Operations & Maintenance Specialist

Incumbent will report to the Senior Operations and Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for field verification, development of job plans, system monitoring, asset management, review of contractor documentation, warehousing and stock decisions and preventive maintenance tests.

Requirements: A college degree in a technical field with electrical experience, water/waste water treatment plant experience and commissioning experience preferred. Candidate must have 3 - 10 years' experience in successful operations and maintenance of mechanical systems. Ability to read drawings and plans. Maximo or similar asset management software familiarity as well as overall construction industry software experience. Excellent written and verbal skills. Project Managers

DHA is seeking project managers of various experience levels for a long term (5 year) program of construction project management from acquisition and planning through project close out. Construction projects range from new construction to renovation of public schools, and parks and recreation facilities in the District of Columbia. The work will include development or review of programs of requirement, estimates, schedules, facilitation of all aspects of construction project management including design review, permitting, progress meetings, construction administration, safety and quality inspections, quality assurance, project turnover, and project closeout.

Requirements: Applicants must have experience in vertical construction with schools or parks and recreations specific experience preferred. Familiarity with Construction industry project management, and scheduling, CAD/BIM/graphic software as well as Microsoft office programs are required. All experience levels are sought. QA Media Specialist

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, QA Media Specialist. Candidate will implement QA/QC processes for the Program Consultants Organization (PCO) on the DC Clean Rivers Project (DCCR), at the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority (DC Water) and prepares presentations and graphics in support of the PCO. Approximately 50% of the candidates role will be providing quality review of written documents prior to final release, for the entire DCCR program. All written documents, reports and letters produced by various design teams will be reviewed for readability, clarity, grammatical correctness and adherence to established templates and formats. Duties will also include review and monitoring of external quality plans produced by consultants, identifying improvements to the established quality plan, and collaboration with engineering teams producing the documents to provide orientation, quality awareness, and training related to the quality standards. The other 50% of the role will include various tasks related to preparation for, and design of, materials for internal and external presentations. Using technical data and material provided by the engineering teams, prepare PowerPoint presentations, graphics and other media for use in telling the story of the DCCR program. Support the cadd department in preparation of graphic boards, and assist with logistics for internal and external meetings. All incumbents may not be required to perform all duties in this description and incumbents may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description. Candidate will read and review all documents, reports and letters produced by the DCCR program. Correct documents for grammatical (non-technical) content and provide feedback to the producer of that content in order to continuously improve the quality of production. Provide comments on technical content which is unclear or inconsistent, and seek input and revisions from technical staff to produce an accurate and understandable document. Coordinate with various project managers to anticipate production deadlines and to establish a document review plan to meet those deadlines. This may include incremental review and establishment of interim milestones for deliverables in order to meet the overall QA for the deliverable. Understand the established drafting standards, document formatting standards and demonstrate proficiency in technical writing standards and Microsoft Office editing tools, in order to identify and/or correct documents prior to final delivery. Prepare PowerPoint presentations to meet the established standards. Present complex issues about the project in a clear and understandable way that communicates a logical story progression understandable to various audiences. Develop graphic materials which help to tell the story and paint a picture in a more understandable way. Review quality plan programs submitted by outside design consultants including review of Project Quality Plans and leading Quality Audits for conformance to those plans. Responsibilities include quality standards briefing for new staff. Availability for adjusting hours of work (within 40 hour work week) in order to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in appropriate field. 5 to 7 years' experience in hands on document quality control review. Experience in engineering environment or other technical environment. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and figures. Experience with graphic materials and presentation media. Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills. Excellent communication and writing skills, and the ability to be proactive in communication with multiple project managers. Complete fluency in the English language and attention to detail for grammar, spelling and technical writing style. Proficient with Microsoft Office projects and particularly the review, editing and formatting features. Proficiency in SharePoint preferred. Proficiency in PowerPoint required. Proficiency in graphic programs or drawing tools preferred. Samples of previous work are helpful. Ability to work will with the senior level management team to be responsive to and report on the quality needs of the program. A passion for quality written and graphic materials. Vertical Project Manager

The Philadelphia International Airport has initiated a Capacity Enhancement Program (CEP). The CEP is intended to increase flight and passenger capacity of the airfield, terminals and associated facilities and to improve the passenger experience while benefiting regional economic development. The CEP proposes numerous projects throughout the life of the program including a new runway and taxiways, terminal improvements and expansion, cargo facility development, a new automated people mover, a new ground transportation center and enabling projects which allow these enhancements to occur. Candidate must have experience in one or more of the following: Management/Oversight of work in a vertical/building environment with experience in multiple trade types of contracts (MEP, Structural, and Architectural). Resident Engineer-type experience, with Construction Manager as a "nice to have". Owner's Representative role experience. Aviation Experience.

Requirements: 6 to 12 years of experience with salary commensurate with experience. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a diverse environment, with multiple client contracts, a large delivery team, and fluid work environment. Local to PHL no travel expected.
