Civil Engineer

Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered, a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Civil Engineer. Candidate must have experience in site and utility design, roadway design grading, storm drainage, stormwater management and erosion/sediment control. Good writing and organization skills. Civil Engineer/Project Engineer

Fire Alarm Inspector

Your skills as a trained fire alarm or electrical engineer, coupled with your experience in the field reviewing, inspecting and commissioning these systems are just what we are looking for. Candidate will provide quality assurance and control oversight for electrical systems, primarily fire alarm systems. The Fire Alarm Inspector executes the quality assurance plan for the project, reviewing the specifications, submittals and shop drawings; monitoring inspection schedules, conducting inspections of various systems for compliance with life safety code, electrical code and other AHJ requirements. The Fire Alarm Inspector will prepare deficiency reports, review as-built, manage the inspection and acceptance process. Candidate will participate in and possibly oversee the commissioning of systems. Approximately 30% of the work is night work. May have design phase responsibilities related to submission design and spec development, commissioning. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for design review coordination and construction document processing. Assist in developing work plans and schedules to complete assigned work in a timely manner. Coordinate with various project managers to set deadlines, priorities, and negotiate competing needs for resources. Oversees and provides quality control for documents produced, including accuracy, presentation, and conformance to established standards and time lines.

Requirements: Minimum Requirements: Candidate must have at minimum one of the following: 5 years' field experience as a QA/QC. 2 years' A/E/C related degree. 2 years' Fire Alarm Inspector/Installer experience. Preferred: 4 year degree in A/E/C industry. Licensed professional fire alarm engineer/electrical engineer. Army Corps of Engineers QA/QC training.
