Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, currently has an excellent opportunity for a talented and energetic, Project Manager.

The Project Manager of PGS is responsible for advising the Department of Aviation (DOA) at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) on implementing a guidance system for the parking garages at the airport. The PM will be a subject matter expert in guidance systems and be knowledgeable of the latest technology in guidance systems.

Successful candidates for this opportunity should be an electrical or systems engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, leadership experience, and competency in managing design projects that are large and complex. Responsibilities

  • Manage projects related to implementing a PGS at PHL;
  • Manage quality assurance within the office;
  • Assist in the planning, budgeting, scheduling, conducting, or coordination of detailed phases of the design work on a project;
  • Serve as lead parking guidance expert at the airport;
  • Prepare reports and make presentations as required to keep DOA leaders apprised of progress in evaluating PGS;
  • Work closely with DOA staff to integrate to integrate the PGS into other systems (e.g., security) at the airport;
  • Coach, mentor and evaluate the performance of direct reports; and
  • Proactively seek opportunities to target and court potential hires, i.e., conventions, project work, employee referrals, etc.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering , ideally in electrical or systems engineering;
  • Ten (10+) years of project engineering and management experience;
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required;
  • Experience in the design and installation of guidance systems;
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, architecture, and building design;
  • Strong computer, writing, communication, and team skills are required;
  • Demonstrated managerial skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to review the work of others; and
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain clients.
