DHA is seeking an ADA Manager to oversee and implement the Airport’s Access and Accessibility Program at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). This role ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and enhances the guest experience for all travelers.

Salary

$90,000 - $150,000

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Airport’s adherence to the Act, including investigating complaints alleging denial of access to services or programs based on disability.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations—including the ADA Act and related legislation—to ensure the rights of individuals with disabilities are upheld.
  • Utilize extensive experience with a broad range of disabilities to guarantee equal access for all customers and employees utilizing passenger-facing facilities, programs, and services.
  • Manage PHL’s compliance activities by ensuring timely responses to inquiries, comments, and complaints, while maintaining detailed records of all communications.
  • Conduct a comprehensive, airport-wide self-assessment every three years to evaluate accessibility, prioritize issues, and develop cost assessments for corrective measures.
  • Advance alternative formats and technologies to enable effective communication and participation in programs, activities, and services for individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with people with disabilities and local advocacy groups to gather feedback, ensuring accessibility initiatives reflect community needs.
  • Promote the Airport’s accessibility programs to exceed guest expectations and improve the overall experience.
  • Establish an external committee to educate community leaders, collect traveler feedback on ADA initiatives, and address common concerns.
  • Employ skilled negotiation and mediation techniques to resolve grievances effectively on behalf of PHL.
  • Work proactively with the Airport, tenants, contractors, and concessionaires to identify and resolve noncompliance issues through mutually agreed-upon solutions.
  • Continuously expand ADA initiatives to cover the broad spectrum of disabilities and enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Regularly inspect passenger-facing areas to identify and address accessibility issues, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Advise Department of Aviation units, stakeholders, and tenants during renovations or new constructions to guarantee ADA compliance.
  • Ensure FAA-required signage and Department of Aviation contact information are accessible, and maintain accurate ADA-related content on PHL’s website.
  • Liaise with the City of Philadelphia’s Office of People with Disabilities to align on city-wide accessibility initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience in Human Resources.
