DHA seeks a Cost Estimator for a multi-year program focusing on Capital Improvement Projects in wastewater treatment and pumping stations. The role involves preparing cost estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and serving as a subject matter expert in budgeting for water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) for wastewater and stormwater projects.
  • Review contractor proposals and provide technical analysis of costs.
  • Support multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation and budgeting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for water/wastewater project cost estimation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of cost estimating experience, including 3+ years in water/wastewater industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in engineering systems analysis and project management.
  • CCP or CEP certification preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • 10% office-based work in a general office environment.
  • 90% field-based work in various weather conditions (heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid).
  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Full-time, five days per week at client’s office in Washington, DC.
