DHA is seeking Cost Estimators to provide expertise by reviewing project cost estimates and supporting budgeting and cost estimation processes for transit projects, including passenger rail. This role ensures accurate, effective estimates aligned with project goals and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess project sponsor's cost estimates for transit projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project scope.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in cost estimation and budgeting for transit-related projects, with a focus on passenger rail or related transportation modes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on cost estimating and budget management processes.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of engineering systems and project management aspects to ensure reliable cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors, engineers, and stakeholders to refine and adjust estimates as necessary.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on cost estimates and financial analysis for upper management and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in cost estimation and project budgeting.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cost estimation professionals on best practices and technical aspects of cost estimation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cost estimating, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, specifically in passenger rail or other transportation modes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in analyzing engineering systems and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Registration as a Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) is desirable but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a general office environment, 100% of the time.
