Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA) provided civil design services during the design and development of the 90,000 SF student center. The facility was sustainably designed and supports the University’s global initiative for sustainable stewardship. It was the third building in the District to achieve LEED Platinum certification, making the iconic building sensitive to its urban context and environment. Located at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Van Ness Street, the student center had program elements that enhances student life on this flagship campus. The new ground-floor restaurant, fitness center, and ballroom provides a mixed-use space that addresses university needs and public design goals. The student center contains a mix of student-focused spaces and community support areas.
