Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA) was part of a joint-venture partnership to design and construct a 24-foot diameter tunnel for the transmission of combined sewer overflows (CSO) from the downtown sections of Atlanta to the treatment plant on the Chattahoochee River. The tunnel is 8.5 miles long and ranges from 150 to 300 feet deep.
DHA provided civil and structural engineering services at the three diversion sites and civil engineering services at the shaft construction sites. We were responsible for designing the intake structure, screening, gates, and approach channel to the tunnels drop shaft at North Avenue CSO, Tanyard CSO, and Clear Creek CSO.
