From 1988 to 2015, Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA), as a joint-venture member, provided program and construction management services for major capital improvement projects at both Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Washington Dulles International Airports (IAD).
Functioning as an extension of the Owner’s staff, the joint-venture’s responsibilities included overall program planning, budgeting and master schedule development, design management, construction management, and construction inspection services. Our project executives, engineers, design coordinators, schedulers, and inspectors facilitated program management efforts on major, multi-task projects at both DCA and IAD.
For IAD's main terminal expansion, our team provided leadership for the construction of the mid-field terminal expansion, built utilizing an innovative design-build contract. Other major improvements included a new, two-level, 136,000 SF Federal Inspection Services Facility to handle 2,400 international passenger arrivals per hour (full capacity); construction of two new 24-gate mid-terminals with an underground people mover system; additional airfield improvements, including new taxiway and runway extensions; installation of a computerized flight and baggage claim information display system; improved airport access; a new fuel farm; and police and fire stations.
