Delon Hampton & Associates (DHA) has a long history of serving the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). In 1974, we received our first contract from WMATA as the lead firm in a joint-venture partnership to design two rail transit service and inspection shops. Over the years, we have provided general engineering, design, and construction management services for WMATA’s transit system, stations, shop yard, maintenance, and parking facilities for decades on several contracts.
Delon Hampton & Associates also served as a joint-venture partner on WMATA's General Architectural and Engineering Consulting Services Contract (GAESC) from 2005-2010. Services included program management, construction management, and design for the upgrade, replacement, and rehabilitation of the full transit system. We managed more than 100 task orders under WMATA’s Infrastructure Renewal Program, which maintained the rail and bus systems in a state of good repair. Work included inspection and repair of various station and bridge structural facilities; electrical and mechanical systems serving the rail system; rail and bus maintenance facilities; and communications, train control, and command systems supporting rail and bus operations. Our team coordinated with multiple jurisdictions in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
